Which Skimmer to Buy

I need help picking out a skimmer. I have had a problem with dino and diatoms recently. I do belive that I'm over it now. I would like to get a better skimmer. But have no idea which ones are good or just exspensive. I dont want to spend 500.00 on a skimmmer just for the name when you can get one for 300.00 that will do the same job. I have a 150g w/29g sump I would like to keep some sps in the system. My skimmer I have now is rated for 200g but it is a cheap one. It does seem to work ok but some have suggested that could be my problen

Great I have heard good thing about them. I was leaning that way but just wasn't sure if you just paying for the name. Any suggestions on size I was thinking about this one Reef Octopus 8" Pinwheel In Sump Skimmer OCT NWB200 it says it wil do a 250g.

I bought a SWC150 over the weekend and it is very quiet if thats a concern. It also has a small footprint. I know they make a version for your size tank that will be well under $500 as well.

Go with SC 150 from scaquariums.com. If you look up sc 150 on ebay they have it for $115. There is a long thread on here about it. I am totally impressed. 180 gallon mixed reef. pulls out some nasty stuff everyday

I would definitely recommend an Aqua Euro 250 Classic.

I have used one for years and I have been very pleased with it.

Still works great to this day.
