which two?

I have the opportunity to buy some zoas I cannot get in my home town. I would like to put the list I can pick from here and hopefully some of you can help me choose which 2 are the best. I do love the pics I have seen of the LA Lakers but maybe someone can comment on them more for me.

LA Lakers
Fruitloops
Red People Eater
Magician
Valentine's Day Massacre
Watermelon
Yellow skirts, orange center, blue mouth

I would appreciate some comments about the ones that I have listed

:spin2:

V-Day for sure!
Watermelons and Lakers are common, so pass those. I'd say... V-Day and Fruit Loops, but that's personally me.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Are the Fruitloops really colorful?

Out of curiosity what did you pick the VDay?

Thanks again though its a big help in deciding, I have till next week to make my decision.

:bounce3:

Vday because it's harder to come by, and have you seen it?! They're realyl nice if you like red!

Fruitloops are decent. But look for rastas!

Thank you so much for your opinion. I appreciate others opinions as we don't get these kinds of zoas/palys here where I live. Rastas, I wish. I will have to wait till I find someone here in Canada with those babies, but I am patient.

Anyone else???

I have a single of the valentines day ones. It's still small, but like the guy above me said, it's pretty crazy red. But it is a small polyp. At least mine is at the time

numbered them in order of what i would get

LA Lakers very bright under led light 6
Fruitloops awesome color and fast grower 2
Red People Eater not my fav 4
Magician my favorite polyp i have ever had 1
Valentine's Day Massacre bright but grew slow for me 3
Watermelon blah 7
Yellow skirts, orange center, blue mouth need a pic on these sounds like a nice morph 5

you can't get VD and RPE, they're both red. Magician is kind of red also.
Lakers have yellow skirts.
Fruitloop and watermelon have green skirts.

Would you say that Fruitloop and LA Lakers are nice and bright colored?

I have PC lights on my little tank so don't know if that would make their colors look good or not.

The reason I ask for opinions is I have never seen any of these zoas/paly's in real life on the pics on the interent which I know alot of times are taken with different lighting and also photo shopped too.

But mainly I am after some colors that really pop with my type of lights.

I've actually seen them all and went to find pictures of what they would most likely look like under your pc's.

If you have PC's, I don't think I'd go with the V-Days. If they're anything like Darth Mauls they might melt and not be happy.

Melons and Lakers are darn near invincible in a decent tank.

When looking for something to stand out, +1 on the magicians then. They're large and have a metallic sheen and are easy to keep. Magicians are instantly greater than Red Peoples, beause they're like red peoples but slightly brighter and metallic blue specks in the center.

Also, I know you shouldn't buy something just because it's the fad. But then again, keeping some of the more in demand corals allows you to sell or trade them so you can get other things you want more easily, since they'll be in more demand. Just a thought.

Good luck with whatever you get!

I'd go with Magicians and Fruitloops. I love my Magicians, and I've been searching hard for some Fruitloops at a cheaper price.

If you want some that aren't always in everyone's tank, I'd get the Valentines.
Why can you only get two? Are you going on a plane? If so, then you don't have to put them in water, just wrap them in soaked paper towels and they will be fine. I took a lot of corals home that way and even took them on the plane with me as carry-on. Security didn't care at all.

You... You can do that? ...This makes my LA trips 100x better now

Thank you for the pics, truly appreciate that very much.

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate that too.

My tank is a pico 2.5 gal so that is why I have to watch how many I put in there. I love my pico tanks, been doing this for 6 years with excellent success.

I currently have 4 different ones in there right now, non of the ones mentioned above though. This will be fun.

Yeah. You're allowed 3 fl oz on the plane, so I put a chalice in a cup that measured that, then I got some zoas and other soft corals and wrapped them in soaked ( with SW of course ) paper towels and put them all ( including the 3 oz cup ) in a zip-lock bag. It has to be a certain size zip-lock, though. You can Google it, or, if you can't find it, PM me and I'll find the bag size I used, if you want.

Be careful, though. All of my frags were flat when I got them home ( 9 hour fight it was ), but they are all fine now. Put them somewhere where they'll stay warm, and not get crushed.

EDIT You can't go out of the states with the frags, though.

Sorry to hyjack.
