Which wrasse?

I have a 97 gallon planned reef tank and looking for fairy and flasher wrasse suggestions. I plan on having a leopard so must be compatible with that. So any suggestions? There's just so many to choose from I don't know what to get. Thanks

I have a lubbock's multicolor that is an absolutely amazing fish. Not sure about their compatibility with a leopard, but he's played nice with all the other fish I've had in my tank. (Pair of clowns, toby puffer, rusty angel, yellow rose goby)

Hmm yeah I like the Lubbock s a lot. Perhaps I will try him. I think as long as he is peaceful should be ok with leopard. Thanks

Make sure you have some sort of cover or netting on the tank. Wrasse are all jumpers and it isn't a question of if, its a question of when. Lost my Lubbock this way after having him for 3 years

Yeah heard a lot of stories of them jumping out. I have a top on the tank so should be good was able to hold a eel in.

Oh and while looking I also liked the blue sided wrasse and the scotts fairy wrasse. Might do one of those. Thanks

Scott's fairy wrasses do better in larger tanks because they also get larger than most fairy wrasses. I kept a blue-sided once and found it to be less mellow than other fairy wrasses too.

My favourites that I have been seeing lots of lately at my LFS are the Crescent tail (Cirrhilabrus lunatus) and the pintail (Cirrhilabrus isoceles). Both are stunning and pretty easy-going. I kept a male-female pair of pintails, but sadly both somehow found a way out of my tank, despite being covered.

Same here. Had a trio of pintails. Two jumped out a 1/2 inch opening. Only one left. Docile wrasse IMO. Hes in there with some rosy scale wrasses and a sailfin wrasse. Minds his own business.

I would skip the scotts. They are on the larger size for wrasses and will/can loose their coloring. Also in my experience they are jerks.

Depending on your budget. Flame wrasses are drop dead gorgeous, but good luck finding one.

Just a nice trio of mckosker, nothing like the male flashing.

Another one that you don't see that often is mystery wrasse.

I agree on the Flame. Definitely the most stunning of my 12 wrasses.

Yeah I like the look of flame but is pretty expensive I might try it if I can find one on sale perhaps. I guess I will skip the Scotts seem very aggressive. Lots of people recommending is the crescent and pin tails. I will look at mystery Wrasse also and I would like to have a school of flashers but I don't know if I will have the room. Thanks for suggestions.

Oh and I forgot to mention that instead of the leopard wrasse I plant to do a dusky Wrasse if that changes much.
