Which zise is better from grow-outs 20 or 10gals?

for growing SPS? i would go with a 40 long for any type of grow-out tank.

i tried 4ft long tanks and got no greater growth rate, and given how much easier a 10 is to clean seemed like the go to me.

Gave it a thought and think, as always, it depends.
Depends on the density you´re planning to stock them and how many you have past meta. If you pack 10/galon and usually have 100 past meta, then 10s semms fine. If you succeed to have more of them it should be larger.

Of course that can be true IF you plan to have your WHOLE batch together in a grow out tank and just ONE batch per tank.

There are somes practical maintenance issues that I still have no idea and others can comment like food wasting, water quality (filter size would an issue depending on your decision), etc.

What you´re planning on yours for now ?

Have already the tanks so they have to fit or will they be paurchased. Maybe it´s a matter of planning. If you have them, make them fit, if not think of what/how many you want to raise.
