white ball on tang

ok so i have been watching my tang for a few days and it had 2 little whit specs on its fins one on the side fin and one on the tail fin. At first i thought it was Ich, so did other people i asked about this..and some people said that garlic can help and so ive been using the Kent Marine Garlic Extreme.. but all the pics i seen that were ich looked to be small white spots on the body and fins.. my tang still only has the 2 spots and seems to have no signs of it being sick. the white spot on its side fin looks to be getting bigger, it looks like a small white ball attached to its fin.. so question is, is this Ich or another kind of parasite.

The name totally escapes me right now but it sounds like a virus caused disease. It will go away just fine. It is contagious but only by direct contact. Keep your water extra clean and watch for secondary infection if it doesn't start to fade. I will log back in if the name comes back to me.

A picture would help.

Might be lymphocytis (sp?) a viral disease akin to warts in humans ... s/b pics on the web where you can verify. If lympho then no meds going to help ... low stress, good water quality, healthy food will bolster immune system and help the fish cure itself.
