I'm upgrading my tank to a 75, its almost complete. Currently I have a pair of percs. I'd like to add this fish as well. But there are so many varying sites that list the min size tank for this fish anywhere from 35-150. Will it be ok in my tank?

Other fish i will have are:

pair of percs
flame angel
black cap basslet
bicolor blenny

if you get a very small one it will be OK for a little while. they love LOTS of flow, so make sure you have a ton!

By "white cheek tank" which do you mean...Acanthurus japonicus, otherwise known as one of the "powder brown tangs?" If so, I don't think the 75gal will be large enough for long. They are very active.

I will probably go with a Tomini but i really like this tang as well.

Ooh...OK I've never had a nigricans, but everything I've read tells me they should be avoided. They're the other "powder brown tang" and are supposed to be significantly more difficult to keep.

should be avoided as in they are aggressive? Or just difficult to keep alive?

i hold them all the time and have never had a problem with aggression and they always eat when they arrive. i would say they are equal to that of a PBT or even powder brown.

They don't fare well in captivity. They need a 6 foot tank with LOTS of flow. I would go with the Tomini..
