simple question for you guys.

What would cause fish eys to turn white? I lost my blenny this morning and he had no signs of anything except 1 white eye. Upon closer staring all day, I finally noticed one of my clowns has 1 white eye. It looks glassed over almost, or cloudy.

Ick or pop-eye either needs immeadiate attention or they will die very soon. QT a.s.a.p. before it spreads. although i think pop-eye if fresh water only, im not sure. sorry, and good luck. REEF-ON!!!

only thing left in the tank are the 2 clowns. I dont have everything needed to properly setup a qt tank. and the fact its 3 am doesnt help.

White film on eyes is often a sign of a bacterial problem (often a result of a netting injury or something similar) and in some cases it can be the result of a parasite problem (fluke on the eye, ich etc).

If its a bacterial problem then sometimes the fish's own immune system will eventually kick in to cure the fish ... improved water quality and a good diet may help. If water quality/diet does not help (in a week or so) then QT combined with some antibiotics is often effective. A double dose of maracyn 2 is often effective on eye injuries.
