Is the symptom, white fecus and lack of eating an internal or external issue, worms or parasite or what? I have read white feces could be a a sign of cyanide posioning....?
Is the fact the 'hi fin borneo cardinalfish' that look like Benggai cardinals, ate well for a week and then quit another symptom as was the fact they seemed to drop one at a time? Often they 'disappereared, but a few were seen laying on the bottom before expiring.... Is it common for this many fish (from the wholesaler I should add) to die in the same fashion?
I also wonder about the hardiness of these fish to begin with. They were sold as Hi fin Borneo, but look alot like Benggai's.....not sure if the hi fin was just a name made up to make it sound more appealing....or if cardinals commomly ail from these symptoms..?
Of 24 fish, which went to 3 different tanks, all ending up dead within 7-10 days in the displays and after 1 wk in QT . In 2 tanks, 180g+, they quit eating and died basically 1 by 1... in a 90 g, the owner said they ate but also ended up dead. No other fish appeared to bother these fish
Is it logical to treat fish when they first arrive with medicated food or other preventative actions to ensure there are no worms ,internal or exteranal parasite? 4-6 wk QT is ideal, but was not practical in this case....
Any help or ideas of what likely caused this would help.. to sumize
24 cardinal fish direct from a wholesaler, 1 wk in QT ate homemade food -ground seafish, algae, mysides, shrimp eggs, garlic and cyclopeze-
once placed in 3 different tanks, proceeded to die 1 by 1 and bascially quit eating...
anybody else go thru this?
Thanks!?
