Can anyone identify this white fuzz on the heads of my coral dose not look like bjd to me from the research I've done. Heads do appear to be dying off slowly.

Could be sponge or some type of fungus. Can you vacuum it off of them? Or maybe do a dip. Personally I don't like it and would want to get rid of it.

I had something like that growing over my green star polyps. It took about 2 months to completely cover them up and prohibit them from opening. I used a soft tooth brush to get it off and they recovered from it very quickly. Just brush it off BEFORE it gets to that point lol.

I should also add that you should do that outside of the tank in a seperate container. Otherwise it just disperses and grows everywhere else in your system.

I had the same thing happen to my wall hammer. Are the tentacles that are next to that jelly retracted? My hammer died completely. In my experience, brown jelly disease is not always brown. Good luck.

This isn't even remotely close to what brown jelly is. Brown jelly eats the head of the coral when it covers it. You can rinse off the brown jelly and you will see the loss of flesh as it eats it. It can be stopped if you catch it early enough.

But I'm positive this is not brown jelly and I've only seen it as brown. I believe this to be some sort of fungus.
