White growth on GSP

I have just recently noticed this white growth on the side of my GSP. It appears slightly spongy and there is a spot or two around the growth that looks spongy as well, but is green. Kinda odd that its localized right on the GSP, but I don't know what it is. The GSP appears completely healthy and is open all day. Sorry for the crappy pics, I used my phone just now when i noticed it; I can get better pics if needed.

Edit- Just realized I put this in the LPS section. My mistake, maybe it can get moved?

Thats what I thought at first. What would be the best course of action to remove it? I looked around the tank more and I found a smaller, similar growth on the side of a piece of LR in an area that doesnt get as much flow as the rest of the tank.

Should I go in tomorrow when the day lights come on and manually remove it?

+1 on sponge, I'm not sure you'd need to remove it, they're just harmless filter feeders that generally mean your tank is doing well :)

Alright, i'll try to pull it off tomorrow but I will most likely leave the one on the LR where it is. I'll post better pics of the GSP sponge tomorrow along with a shot of the sponge on the LR.
