Hey guys,
Got a blue spotted jawfish in QT for 3 weeks now. He had a fungal type of infection and also velvet (just guesses, but copper and maracyn so far have gotten rid of it completely). I struggle everyday to feed him, at most i get him to eat a clump of small mysis shrimp if i put it right in front of his face (vitamin enriched, maybe about 10 pieces). He looks worse now than when I originally got him because of him loosing a lot of his color in certain areas (see pictures), but the huge growths that used to be on him are all gone at least.
I'm worried he may die soon because of malnutrition, but I also want to know what is causing him to loose his color (could it be simply the lack of nutrition and eating enough, or is there something else that is causing his lack of appetite that i should be treating for). I'm staying on top of my water quality and watching it closely so it can't be that. I also have two purple firefish in that QT that have showed signs of fin/tail rot, but it is getting better (very slowly) since i put the tank on maracyn.
Any ideas what this could be and if I'm treating correctly?
