white powder on my fish

my angel looks like he has white powder on him as well as one of my tangs
i know what ich is...usually small white bumps like salt but this is powdery

It could be velvet. If that's the case you'll have to treat it very quickly as it can be fatal and in little time.

The other possibility (I experienced this with my singapore angel) is that it's increased slime coat production due to a baterical infection. In this case look for trailing slime off of the fish. This you'll need to treat quickly as well. I unfortunately lost my angel to this because I didn't know what it was . The bacterial infection is the least likely of the two as both fish have it.

use 1 mm of fomulin per gal and an iarstone in a bucket and dip for 8 mins should do the trick,use tank water for the dip
