White ray shrimp goby problem?

I bought the goby paired with a pistol shrimp in July, 2005. She has never ventured further than a few inches from their burrow. Yesterday she was sitting on the sand about 2 feet from the burrow. I coaxed her back, and she went in the burrow,. This morning she is sitting on the sand about 3 ft. from the burrow. Has she reached the end of his life? I don't know their natural span,
