White roots on my live rock?

Hey! I can't find anything on this, but I know I'm not the first to have it.

I moved a rock that the urchins had moved a few weeks ago. I had left it because when I tried to move it last time, my Clarkii went nuts and I thought he was going to jump. So I stopped.

FF to today. I figured out how to move it. So I did. And my small piece of LR had a white sandy root structure. I touched it to see what it was and one came right off. So is it normal? Bad? Good? Here's a pic, but it's always hard to take a good one with the moonlights. (The second one is the Einstein moment I had to use my sons grabby toy to reach the bottom of my deep tank. The claw is my master! )

Agreed. Could it be feather dusters? My sump live rock are covered in them... kind of fit the "roots" description.
