White silicone

Is it ok to use white (marine grade) silicone on a sump? I had heard something about "anti molding" had not researched it.

I think you are referring to the fact that you have to be careful that the silicone doesn't contain any anti-mould or mildew agents, as these can be harmful to fish.

So how do you know if it does?

It normally says so on the back of the can. I think there are some known brands that are safe - get someone else to confirm this, but I think GE 1 silicone is reef safe (*I think that's what it's called*).
