i cant find my other post cuz search wont work for me so, i have white spots all over one of my crocea, i bought it from clams direct, i noticed another thread on this in the clams direct forums.............i wrote him , he says hes sure something is picking at it and he hasnt seen white spot disease in some time........now........................ive watched this clam for 3 weeks day and night, i never ever see anything on him, so i can only assume this is indeed some type of sickness.................is there anything i can do to try and save him? my other crocea had one spot on him but its since gone, hes fine.....................

pic in gallery, he only seems to have the spots where the ridges are on his shell, i have noticed that this is a rather skittish clam if there is such a thing..................any shadow or fish going by he draws in quickly.................is it possible that this is making the shell wear thru his flesh?

i posted a second pic from side , while were on the subject, is it ok for him to be leaning forward like that? is his base attachment strong enuff or would it be stressed in this position?

thats not "white spot" as described in D.Knops book. its bleaching for some reason. was it shaded at any time? how close to the lights is it? what lighting and K rating are they?

it was on the bottom, i moved it up today as my girl thought maybe its not getting enuff light, i have 8 bulb t-5 54w..............6 aquablue(11,000k) and 2 blue +...................

ok, if i may, how did you post pics in the message?

go here

http://imageshack.us/

click browse, find the pic you want, click on it, click host, then go down to the 3rd line that has the info from your post, click on that,it will turn blue then copy, then go back to the thread you want to post in,then click past. done.

give it a shot, start a thread, show us your tank:)

Current? One of my C's has a bleached edge because it keeps it curled under so current wont fold it other way. Only shows when retracting mantel or at night when current subdues. Been happy for year + now, normal growth with two other C's in same reef.
