White spot id please.

Can anyone identify the two white spots on the yellow tang's right pectoral fin. They have been there for 8 days. They showed up after 3 1/2 weeks of it being in the qt. I thought it was ich and have been treating with coppersafe, but there has been no change in the size or number of spots. The fish is eating fine. The kole tang has no spots but was in the qt with the yt so it is being treated also. If this is not ich, I want to get the fish out of the copper asap. I took about 100 pictures and this is best I could get. The spots on the left pectoral fin are actually on the glass.

TIA.

For lymph, you don't really need to do anything other than keeping up with water quality and feeding good diet. It will go away on its own in a few weeks.

I tried to get a better picture but couldn't. After looking at the fish and researching Lymphocystis, I'm pretty positive that is what the fish has. I assume I should keep the fish in the ht until the spots disappear. I'm going to do 20% water changes everyday to get the coppersafe out of the ht. I'm going to move the kole tang back to the qt. How long should I keep the kole tang in the qt?

Don't panic and rush the Kole into your DT; they handle copper well and (IMO) there's nothing wrong with using copper as a preventative treatment for ich & velvet, etc. These parasites can easily go undetected for weeks. As long as they are handling a treatment dose of copper; you may be doing yourself and your fish by keeping them in the Cu for a full treatment. I've treated every new fish with copper for years; I'm not "pushing" it-- but preventative treatment with Cu is very common. Carbon or Cuprisorb will remove copper in hours if you feel a need to get it out. I agree with the guys above, looks like lympho because it isn't round and has been there so long. Lympho has the look of "miniature" cottage cheese. IMO, fish should be in a QT a minimum of 6 weeks. The lympho may or may not disappear by then; but its not contagious.

I wasn't sure if the cu would slow down the healing process of the lympho due to the stress I'm sure it places on the fish. The fish have been in qt for 3 1/2 weeks. 9 days of that they have been treated with cu. I was thinking of moving the kole to different qt, not to the dt. I thought with the tangs in different tanks that would farther reduce stress on the yellow tang.

Whatever you do; ich is the enemy. Stress (IMO & IME) gets way too much credit for problems. Stress is a concern, ich is a killer.

+1. Stress is, like you said, the most abused word in this hobby. Too many fish deaths have been wronly attributed to "stress."
