White Spot On Watchman!?!

Leviathan

New member
Hi everyone,

This afternoon when the halide came on I noticed a fairly large white spot under the left eye of my 4 year old Watchman. It was NOT there last night when the lights went out, so it came up in the last 17 hours or so. Eating is not changed, nor has movement. Minus the spot all would appear normal. I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before and what if anything can be done to help?

I have had this Watchman for a long time and dont want to see something happen to it.

TIA

Update,

The spot is still there, but aside from that he seems perfectly normal. It has not become worse, it simply hasnt got better yet.

No ideas?

That appeared over night! It looks a lot like Lymphocystis, a viral disease. However, I wouldn't normally expect that to grow that quickly or show up on a fish you have had for 4 years.

Can you tell... does it appear to be sitting on the skin or in/under it? I'm wondering if it's some sort of egg mass or parasite sitting on the skin.

It seems to be flush, as if it is just discolored. There are no raised bumps or even an open sore. Like I said earlier, if it was not for the spot, its acting completely normal.
