Hello, can anyone tell me how to treat white spot for marine fish and can corals be affected? As I'm new to all this I'm looking at my little coral and I'm sure it also has it? Nearly all fish are gone just one remaining!

It sounds like you have a case of marine "ich". It is a parasite that effects the gills and muscle tissue of fish. There is only one way to cure it, which is to remove the fish to a QT tank and trat with copper (cupramine). You will also need to leave the tank fallow for 10 weeks in order to eliminate all stages of the life cycle since the parasite can remain in the water column for that long.

The good news is that marine ich can't effect corals so there may jsut be something on your coral.

This is just a suggestion of course, without pictures and more accurate information about your situation a real diagnosis is impossible.

Copper treatment is one course of treatment. The others include using Tank transfer method, Chloroquin phosphate and hypo-salinity.

All methods require the use of a QT/HT and for the tank to remain fallow or fishless for 72 days. Inverts and corals are not affected by ich.

If you have just one fish left, I'll suggest that you take her out and run the tank fish less for 3 months. I have also read that increasing the temperature will speed up the life cycle of the ick.

I used to have ick in my tank and my tank was full of fishes, but with the blessings of God its gone now. I don't have any option to QT the fishes. I raise the temperature to 88F and I keep changing the filter sock every other day. And within 4-6 weeks the ick is gone, but I kept that for practice for few more weeks. Many member will not agree with my treatment, but it or something work for me.

One more suggestion, always buy the fish from a reputed seller. If possible check if their filtration is combine for all the tanks or its individual.

rasing temperature won't have any effect on marine ich life cycle. it works only for freshwater ich. if you had ich in your tank, it's still in the tank if you didn't treat the fish with one of these tank transfer(i prefer this method), copper(cupramine works well), chloroquine phosphate, and hyposalinity (some ich from asia can survive hypo nowadays) while fallowing your tank for 10 weeks.

Feed your fish Garlic! Not just any form of garlic though. Mike Paletta and Sanja Yoshi are a huge pusher of this. I have been doing it for years and have not had any issues with Ick since. This is a preventative measure. can also help when used in conjunction with other treatments. I personally don't use chemicals to treat ick. I take the fish over to a hospital tank, slowly drop the salinity, push garlic and the problem is solved.
