white sps ..can it still come back ?

A friend gave me a frag (4-5") acropora sps ..that is all white. Is it dead ? Or can it still come back with proper reef settings ?

Does it have any polyps out? Post a picture for us if you are unsure.

If it is completely white and has no polyp extension, I think its safe to say it's dead. I have seen SPS bounce back from hardly any tissue, but as you mentioned- water quality and stability need to be sound.

Do you have other SPS in your tank?

Keep it in there like posted above sps can come back from very little tissue just wait it out.
