white worm like diease

i have a leopard eel and it seems as if it has worms or some disease very similar to it. there is a while curly line from head to body then head again traveling up and down in a wave formation. what kind of disease is this and how can i treat it?

I'm not sure what to make of that description. Any chance of a photo? Is the line symmetric on the eel, right to left (if so, I would suspect it's a natural marking rather than a parasite)? Does the line move?
