Whitecap Goby $800?!!!

Just saw this at my LFS and it's called a whitecap goby with a shrimp, they're selling for $800. Are they that rare?

Rare yes 200-300 seems going rate

Diver's Den had one in their "Deals and Steals" section on sale for $225. It stayed there for at least 4 months with no interest.

They are so rare that once you put one in your tank you'll never see it again.

Seems the going rate is between $200-300 depending on where your getting it from.

around here in jersey the going rate is $300 $350 with the pistol shrimp there is a lfs here that has three paird with there shrimp for those prices

I have one and he is awesome. Found his hole and you can see him come out for feeding time. He is paired up with his shrimp. Great little fish but NOT 800 $

$5 seems a lot to me. Why buy an ugly fish that you'll never see? To each his own...

Price not withstanding, they can be called many things, but ugly is a stretch.
