What thickness acrylic are you thinking about? Scoring with a razor knife can work for 1/8". A "skill saw" with a plywood ripping blade turned backwards will do simple/short cuts in 1/4" acrylic.
I use a scroll saw... Table saw are nicer, but scrolls, jigsaws, etc., all work. You just have to use masking tape over the cut area to provide some cooling, otherwise it will try to glue itself back together.
it would just be 1/8, but i want to make a little box, so the edges would need to be mendable.. i want to make a box about 12x10x2, but i also need to cut a 6" tube.. thats the scary part..
