alright there is always a guy that has a very clean, nice set up at the frag swaps and always has Blue and Green Alien Eye Echinopora (i think that is what it is called)

does anyone know who this person is? I would like to see about getting a frag of it.

does it grow fast?

its considered an LPS right?

Probably Larry (zeppelin on RC). He has a shop out of his house called Edens Gate Corals. You can add a dot com to that name to check out his site.
Don't wanna get into trouble by linking to a non RC sponsor website.

I have had decent growth from them. Roughly doubling a frag disk sized pc in one year.

I am pretty sure they are considered SPS.

hmm, i didnt think it was him, my buddy bought some ridiculous radioactive alien eye zoas from him at the last frag swap. he does have great stuff!

Ill look him up thanks!

Nope, there lps.

Good thing I said I was just "pretty sure" LOL ... I am no expert and just proved it I guess.

Some other guys with nice chalice were Meisen and RandyO.

Agoutihead, that link you posted is not to a challice coral. Thats something different. Can't think of the real name but its not a lps either that one is sps.

This it? If so it's from Meisen:

It looks different under different light.

btw, I have that frag but mine grew oddly. It grew up instead of out. it grew to the size of the disc, then grew up! It's about 2" wide but about 4" tall. Still trying to figure out how to frag it safely.

I'm not sure....it grew to the edged of the disc then started moving up. I think I'm going to try fragging it. Going to take the top 'bump' off then cut up the remainder into quarters and try and cut away some skeleton so it will lay flat on a disc.

I'm hoping mine grows pretty fast, the corals sure were liking the tank when i fed it, they all extended their polyps pretty long and were eating some good stuff from rods food

Glad the RDE zoos are doing well from last swap. I should have a few frags of the alien eye chalice you mentioned this year(mine is echinophyllia, not echinopora), as well as the cyphastrea you linked to, and some blue chalice(RandyO's echinopora). I have a few things listed on fragswapper for this year's swap.

Sounds like its going to be another great swap. Hope everyone's tanks have survived the HOT summer OK. The air conditioner in my coral room was going full blast all summer. See everyone in a couple weeks.
