Who did it?

I found my cleaner shrimp dead this morning just his outer body and a few internal parts. It just molted about 3 days ago. I have two small clownfish (1" or so), a bi-color blenny that rarely leaves his hole in his rock, a fire shrimp, and a few snails. Is it likely that one of these killed the cleaner shrimp? Or it just died and a snail ate it afterwards. Any have these fish kill their shrimp?

The fire shrimp might have taken advantage of the situation. I would guess that the others are innocent of the charges. There is also the possibility that it just didn't survive the molt.

It sounds like he probably just died. You don't really have anything in your tank predatory to shrimp.

If you want shrimp I would suggest coral banded shrimp and a skunk cleaner shrimp. Do you have an ATO? Add kalk to your Reservoir.

I had a skunk die after 5 years in a tank with no possibility of predation. Bought as an adult so not sure if it's real age.

I've encountered ideas about "incomplete molts" killing shrimp. Some said it was due to lack of this or that in the water. No idea how accurate any of that is. I don't think any of your animals are the likely culprit although many CUC members can go to town on a dead or dying shrimp.
