Who feeds their corals and if so what?

Who feeds their SPS corals? I've heard two basic camps on this. One, those that feel that extra feeding is not necessary if there are a good amount of fish in the aquarium. Two, those that feel extra feedings are conducive to increased growth and health. If you do feed could you please let me know what and how much? I have been keeping reef aquaria for almost two years now and SPS corals for about a year. I am starting to get more into the acroporids and would like to get the best growth possible. Thanks to all for looking!

I feed oyster-feast and frozen cyclopeeze once, maybe twice a week at night.
Never more than half a teaspoon.
I would probably feed more often but I feed my fish twice a day

My system is about 65g.

Thanks for the reply. I also feed my tank cyclopeeze (freeze dried) about 3 times a week, but mostly for my shoal of chromis. I know my zoanthids eat this but I wonder if the cyclops are too big for acroporids to eat?

I started feeding Oyster Feast a month ago and I am seeing a lot of color improvement. I started because some of my acros were getting tissue recession in their shaded areas. I feed a tablespoon daily in my approx 240G system. It's very expensive though. I have been thinking about liquifying some seafood in the food processor, straining it through a fine mesh, cheesecloth maybe, and freezing cubes of the resulting liquid.

1/2 tsp of oysterfeast about 3-4 days a week on a 55gal tank. Occasionally I'll get out my syringe and target feed my LPS with cyclopeeze.

Black Jack Reef Crack (more of a all around food but it contains small particles for corals also)

Its a frozen mixture like Rods and its sold at just about every LFS here in Kansas City. Doubt you will find it outside KC, its made by a local guy.

Can you name one place that sell it? I may try it out.

I feed my SPS, coral creole, oyster feast, Rods fish eggs, nutra mar, frozen cyclopes and marine cuisine. My LPS get arctic pods.

I feed mine with oyster feast and roti feast twice a week at night time. I also feed my fishes twice a day with pellets and flakes. Does fish poo counts?

Thanks to all that replied. For those of you that do feed your SPS, have you noticed increased growth and/or color since you started feeding? Thanks again!

How do you guys feed the corals? do you turn off the return? I started to use Oyster eggs couple weeks ago and I have feeling that all the eggs got flow to the overflow and the corals are hardly getting any. Please share the method you use.

i turn them off whenever i feed the frozen stuff. but with flakes and nori i leave the pumps on.

Oyster feast and roti feast, shut down returns (of course at night) and turn off skimmer for a few hours

I put the MP40s into feed mode but I do not turn off my return pump, as for my skimmer depending on what I am feeding.
