I dont know if its true but I heard from seahorsesource.com that they no longer get Moina Salina from AlgaGen . I guess it wasnt a big seller. so did anyone buy it when it was in production? if so how can I get some resting eggs? thanks Louis
No it didn't work out. They sent me a big jar of dying or dead copepods. They may have had them at one time but must not have kept their culture pure. They didn't even know what they were sending out. Luckily I had a stereoscope to confirm their mistake. I was refunded the money. But I did see that a place in Germany may have been the source for the US supply. You are closer than me to Germany.
I just got some Arctodiaptomus salinus ("tangerines") from Algagen and no,they didn´t have Moina at this time.
Are you the same Louis Z from Tx.that used to post in the Breeders Registry mail list centuries ago?
I sent an email to Algagen asking about the [Copepod eggs that can be hatched upon demand], but they did not reply. They are mentioned here: http://www.algagen.com/prod/?p=53
I wanted to get some sent to London, UK.
Do you have a contact at Algagen, I tried sales@algagen.com
but as I said, there was no reply.
I managed to find Resting Rotifer Cysts (by Florida Aqua Farms) at zmsystems.co.uk,
Here is a link
Yes Luis it's me. I have been away for awhile raising my two kids. They take up most of my time. They are the ones that actually got me started back up again. We went to the coast and caught our own livestock and they pleaded with me to bring them back. We are going again in the summer but this time with a plankton net hoping to catch some parvocalanus parvus and some oithona copepods and hope to bring back a good variety of ciliates. I will sweep the back bays and also the incoming tides. As for algagen I also have not received any reply. That's okay because they are producing several strains of copepods.
