Who keeps Butterfly fish in their tank?

I am looking to add a butterfly to me 90% SPS reef. I have a bunch of polyp hitchhikers on a couple of big pieces of LR that I want to find a predator for. I am also concerned about one nipping at my blue carpet.

So, who all is keeping them? Which species? And what if any problems with them?

I have a copperbanded butterfly that is a model citizen in my tank. Make sure the fish will eat frozen food before you buy it or else it will starve after it picks your rocks clean. I'm not sure about picking at your anemone because I don't have one.

CBB for a long time in mine...never picked at anything....they wont touch the anemone...too noxious....if you are worried about them picking its more with clams and snails

other butterflies i have no exp with

I have an Oval Spot butterfly. The yellow one with a black oval near it's back. Damn thing ate my Acan, scoly, all my birdsnest, half the pocci, and is working on my brains. I've been trying to trap that thing for a month now.

I had a cbb too and he was a great fish in my mixed sps/soft coral tank. Didn't bother anything and ate like a pig. I am thinking of trying a zoster butterfly and schooling bannerfish next time.

We have been using Kliens Butterflyfish for aiptasia control but it also picks on zooanthids.Hasnt bothered SPS or Montis and seems to love Spectrum pellets.Same results on three tanks.

make sure the fish in towards the front of the tank and then drain the tank down very quickly.
Scoop him out when he doesn't have much water to swim in then refill the tank quickly.
