Posted this in the wrong forum earlier. :lmao:
Who knew that two wrasses could live in almost near peace in a 30 gallon tank. Sure the new wrasse now swims all over and the old one just mostly hangs out in darker areas of the tank now. But they're both alive after 3 nights.
Anyway, the story.
The girlfriend says she wants to go to the LFS even though I couldn't go. I had other things to do. So I tell her "dont buy a fish!" First off we already have 5 fish! Secondly, the most likely thing she'd bring back is a puffer. So the day goes on and she comes back and says look what I got! It's a freakin fish. I asked what it was and she couldn't remember. So I'm looking through a doubled up bag and can't tell what it was, the bags blurred the fish. I said "I think it's a hawkfish or maybe a wrasse" She called the LFS that she got it at and asked what it was. The person there said it's a red sand hopper. I'm thinking what the heck is a red sand hopper? I look all over the internet and couldn't figure it out. I look in the bag a few more times and I came to the conclusion that it's probably a wrasse with a butt-ton of fin nip. There's no freakin fish called a red sand hopper on the internet anywhere. We come home later that night and I start acclimating it, it goes into the cup and voila! It's a wrasse! Now I'm really upset that the LFS had no idea what they were selling and sold it to my girlfriend who I told not to buy a fish. Besides we already have a flasher wrasse that I've had for almost 6 months and I love the thing. So I'm thinking great world war 3 is coming.
Now there's a filamented flasher and an unknown
I still have no idea what kind of wrasse it is, but it looks almost identical to a Lineatus Fairy Wrasse. I'm basing this mostly on the color and the blue lines that start as lines and then turn into dots.
This would be really cool if that's what it is considering she paid like $40 for it only. Who knows, the LFS person said s/he's never seen a fish like this before. sure. Probably because it was in a small tank with half it's fins missing.
Whatever. Had to rant a little.
