Who lives with your maroons.

Had a change of plans and looks like my maroons will be going into the 56 column tank.

I would like to add a couple other fish to it. Any suggestions?

my lawnmower blenny and foxface rabbitfish get along swimmingly...pardon the pun. the maroons love their bta, and i think that helps.

I have a single gold stripe in with a Blue Neon Goby and a # stripe damsel .. they seem to really like each other...

I have a pair of maroons and in their tank they have:
Diamond Goby, Watchman Goby, Sailfin Tang, Powder Blue Tang, Regal Tang, Yellow Tang, Neon Goby, and a Percula Clown.

My maroons pretty much hang out near their RBTA and they seem to really like the regal tang for some reason. They aren't exactly fans of the Percula clown but my perc is almost always in his Gigantea and the maroons leave him alone most of the time.

I have a pair of GSM that live in a gbta. They share the tank with a rusty angelfish, 2 bg chromis and 2 squareback anthias with no probs.

powder brown tang (Acanthurus japonicus)
Yashe goby (Stonogobiops yasha)
clown fairy wrasse (Cirrhilabrus solorensis)
candy hog wrasse (Bodianus bimaculatus)

Yes tank will have a BTA, zoas and acros.

nothing.. since they started to act like they want spawn they killed a mandarin and a clown goby and a cleaner shrimp but this is a 20L with about 40lbs rock and 6 inch DSB so there is not much room in the tank.

the brittle star and bristleworms are ok in there

OH...corollary thread: who doesnt live with your maroons:

$150 worth of shrimp. i have NO idea where they went. but my bta tripled in size, split, and then doubled.

you do the math.

my maroons seem to like tangs best. but they are housed with a dottyback, wrasses, anthias, gobie

the basic rule i think is

nothing in similar color
nothing in simalar body shape

my female doesent like my christmas wrasse to much, if it gets close it'll chase it away, but everyone else can get close and even swim with her.


timrandlerv- yep, my anemone ate a cleaner shrimp when it was trying to steal its food. it happens

my maroon pair live with, 1-coral beauty, 1-green chromis, 1-fancy anthias and their home is a carpet anem and there are two cleaner shrimp

My maroons cohabitate with 4 green chromis, flame angel, lawnmower blenny, yellow tail blue damsel and a six line wrasse, only ones the clowns pick on are the chromis.
