Who runs a 250w MH on a 10g tank?

Anyone here run a 250w MH on a 10g tank? I'm thinking about hanging a pendant over a 10g tank and was wondering if I'd have heat issues.

would you ever unless you hung it pretty high at least 8-10inches minimum

I can hang it 8-10"... I could hang it as high as I needed to actually. Its a temporary tank and I can just put some eye hooks in the joists (unfinished part of the basement)

I had that exact MH lighting, but I ran an Ice Probe Cool Works chiller, I wanted a maxima, what do you want that requires such intesne lighting?

I'm setting up a 10g temporary tank to house my SPS. I already have the 250w pendant sitting around for my new tank that won't be up for a month or two.

i have a 150 about 16" over my 5.5 gallon tank... no heat issues really, but my room's ambient temp is like 64 degrees... ( i hate not being able to control my temp)

anyways... i used to have cooling issues at night where it would swing from 81-82 to like 72-73... but now i have my heater in there and rarely changes more than 79.8-81.3 in a whole day
