Ok, not finding anyone here that can do the staining. Does anyone know anyone I could contact about staining the stand?

Thanks!

I made this table for a guy at work.

He took it to a place in St. Charles on Main Street to stain and finish it. He thinks the name was "Dip It". He said they did an incredible job with it.

I just spoke to this place. They sound VERY knowledgable. He thinks between $250-$300
What do you guys think? Is that high or no...Includes everything.

He thinks that's it. He said to get the quote in writing if possible - they told him one price and when he went to pick it up, it was 100 more.

What size is it? If it's 48" or larger, that sounds like a pretty good price. Be sure that she knows to hit the inside of the canopy and stand with at least a couple of coats of poly to keep absorption and warping down.

Thanks!
Yeah, it's 48" with canopy. However, I was planning on doing a white marine paint in the canopy for the vho's and for the warping. When they stain it, is it standard to do inside and out?

It should be as finishing one side and not the other can cause warping (ask Ocicat) but some places are in it for the quick buck or just don't know any better.

Really that is a good idea.. That way its done by someone that does it all the time.

You could also ask Ocicat the person that did her stand and canopy and see if he could stain yours. I believe Clark used the same guy, they both talk very highly of his work.

I was actually very impressed with how nice and knowledgable, and in depth they were talking. I might just do that.

Well, I emailed them some pics and they're saying $350-$450

A bit more than what I was hoping for. Any other suggestions.
