Just wondering how many here actually look at and get an exact diagnoses before they treat?

And if you do, please share your tips on swabbing, sampling or other useful techniques when working with fish.

I use one for identifying the species of flukes. For doing skin scrapes i recommend getting a lab tray or a dissecting tray with the rubber mat. Also I use gloves and a slide cover to do the scrape and transfer it to a slide. There are videos online that go over step by step instructions.

Are you using any type of contrast or stains?

No. I've only used it for identifying flukes species, red bugs and flatworms.
