The juvi Gems are in our local rockpools at the moment.
I know of at least 3 that have been caught by local reef club members in the last week.

No luck for me personally, but I have caught a powder blue and clown tang in the last couple of weeks.

The illusive Gem continues to evade me -- grrrrr

Availability is higher, thus prices lower. DD had one reduced to $1,700 last week and NY Aquatics apparently has them for $1,100. Bought a small one from a local reefer for less than that.

I picked up a pair for $1700 ��. Had them for a few months already. Getting ready for a big boy tank. There seems to be an huge wave of gem tangs lately. I think they should slow it down a bit though.

Unfortunately for the divers in Mauritius, they're now being collected from another region in larger quantities. Don't be surprised if the price continues to dive on them.
