Whos got these Midnight Zo's

Re carbon - well different tanks and all. That's the only thing that I could figure that was causing the problem for me.

I run a 72 bowfront with sump and fuge. I have a way low bioload, because I only had the one frogfish along with assorted inverts.

I ran the carbon in a HOT Magnum off the side of my sump. After a few weeks, various purple centered zoas faded. Some pinks with super long skirts totally shrank back to really short ones. Some of the green skirted zoas turned yellow green while other greens weren't affected. My Armageddons closed up and shrunk in polyp size and skirt length. I lost 2/3 of my Armageddons before I guessed about the carbon. Even my chaeto which was jammed packed in my fuge shrank back to barely 2 handfuls.

After I yanked the carbon, my zoas started opening back up and the shrinking began to reverse itself. Skirts are starting to lengthen and the purple pigments are coming back. Even the chaeto is growing again.

If I wanted to experiment, I would put the carbon back for a couple weeks or so, but I don't want to risk losing any more zoas.

I'll probably do like some of the SPS guys and run carbon once a month for a day or so.
