I dont know much about these other than what they look like, and I think I might have a few. Why are these bad? I have read on several posts that these are bad, but whats the deal?
They're rather ugly, they outcompete lots of corals for lights and nutrients, they reproduce phenomenally fast in aquariums, and they can sting corals into submission.

If you use/can get kalkwasser just mix it into a paste and smother the aiptasia with it. I just did this and killed 3 in my tank. they havent come back.
by the way aiptasia really damaged my carnation coral and was working on my montipora as well. Their sting is extremely strong in relation to other animals.
