I dont know much about these other than what they look like, and I think I might have a few. Why are these bad? I have read on several posts that these are bad, but whats the deal?

They will take over a tank in short order and their stings will take out just about anything in their way;)

They're rather ugly, they outcompete lots of corals for lights and nutrients, they reproduce phenomenally fast in aquariums, and they can sting corals into submission.

Yes!!

KILL KILL:uzi: :fun2: :blown:

If you use/can get kalkwasser just mix it into a paste and smother the aiptasia with it. I just did this and killed 3 in my tank. they havent come back.

by the way aiptasia really damaged my carnation coral and was working on my montipora as well. Their sting is extremely strong in relation to other animals.

Why won't anybody nominate me for TOTM???

IMO anything can become a pest in a tank, but these guys take the cake, they will even grow IN your skimmer!
