My midas blenny began having some whitish slim on its body 4-5 days ago. It got worse and recentlly died. Now I see the same white slim growing on my clown fish which has stopped eating. Before the rest of my fish gets sick, what is going on? How do I stop this? What kind of disease is this? Thanks!

we will need some pics to help identify the problem..can you describe it any more than that??? are there any other fish in the tank besides the clown??

I've tried getting a good picture, but it's not clear enough to see the white. It looks like white slimy chunks clinging off the fins and body. Right now in my 75 gal there's a royal gramma, firefish, and two clown fish. Both clowns have stopped eating and have that stuff on them. Thanks for any help.

it sounds bacterial..if it is minor enough, large, regular water changes can clear it up..if not, i would qt the fish and treat with meds

What could cause this? What's the disease called? Which medication should I buy? Thanks!

it could just be a bacterial infection, caused by bacteria in the tank..small cuts or wounds could encourage an infection...i would put it in qt and treat with Maracyn 2, if in fact it is what i think..a pic would help confirm
