I was just wondering why everyone says they are so bad and to stay away from one?

I have one and he's a perfect citizen in my tank and have never had a problem with him, so I just want some reasons why I never should of gotten one.

Thanks much

They seem to have a bad reputation for catching small fish if they get hungry.....just keep him fed.

A general rule with these guys....and all brittle/serpent stars is, never leave them to scavenge for food and expect them not to eat whatever they can catch.

they would be fine with larger fish such as triggers, tangs, and large angels. but smaller clowns, gobys, mandarins, and fish that are small and may rest on the sand are at risk of getting eaten.

Ok,

Guess I got a dumb or a good one. I've got 3 pep shrimp and a small clown gobbie and my tank and he has never gone after them. I do feed him some krill about every 2 days though so that might help.

I really just wanted to know why they have such a bad rep.
