generally speaking we use 1 teaspoon of gfo or carbon every 5 gallons so why the hell are reactors so big? i have a 30 gallon and only use 6 teaspoons of gfo which just scratches the surface of the sponge.
BRS makes a mini reactor but in my experience it's hard to tumble GFO in the mini reactors. Of course the tall one takes up more space but in terms of GFO it works well.
Isn't there a standard reactor size that's standard not only for reef-related reactors but for reactors as a whole? The same reactor size used for RO/DI systems that makes everything interchangeable?
I use a 1C + 2 tbs for 80G of water. My reactors are just the right size as there is just enough room to tumble.
BRS makes a mini thats designed for nanos and your supposed to run carbon and GFO mixed in them as they are a slight bit too small to just run GFO and have it tumble.

brs calculates that for my 30 gallons i should use 2 spoons of carbon and 3 spoons of gfo i feel like that's such a waste of space for 2 reactors or even 1 lol
