Why can't i keep acropora?

I hear what you're saying but even the manufactorer of the lamp tells us to turn the white channel down. What's your take on that?

I have never had good results with having the whites high. I just went from a 2:1 ratio of blues:whites to 3:1. The whites seem to be great for balancing the colors we see but seem to cause SPS to bleach when too high.

Well I'm just gonna say that a lot of ppl over due the royal blue spectrum which might be why the diy builds seem to have trouble. And they use cool whites.

And I have never heard of them telling you to turn whites down bc the factory settings on my led are 100% on both channels. I turned mine down at first to acclimate but I want them as high as possible to maintain strong color and I have sps on the bottom.

Most acros need as much light as your light can throw at them. There's a guy on the sps forums with a 29 gallon biocube running a radion pro at 85% and that's at 3" above the water..... no bleaching or anything. I have no bleaching either. But with my old diy build I did have. Bc I had too many leds.

And when they say turn it down they don't mean turn it off. 25% won't wake my corals up.....

Please expand on this. In the current debates regarding "White LEDs" my conclusions is that white leds are good for nothing except creating a visually pleasing light for the human eye.

this is a myth, and as far as I can tell it's just an RC thing, very anti-led culture here..

NW/WW LEDs are leaps and bounds better than CW, and high kelvin whites are basically useless as a white.. there is absolutely nothing wrong with white LEDs, and they certainly don't kill coral like one thread here seems to say over and over..
