Why did I get a RIO 1700 w/ my osmolator?

I just recieved the osmolator 3155, and calcium dispenser from a popular online vendor. In the box I recieved a rio 1700, which I didn't order, does it somehow go w/ the set up?? I have everything set up with the standard metering pump, and can't figure out if I'm supposed to use the rio somewhere, or if its just a freebee I shouldn't have gotten.
