why do acans change color?

do acans naturally look DULL/plain in color the wild?

i have a couple of acans which are dull brown/pale red/ dull violet should i expect them to change color?

I have some acans as well I believe the trick is putting then in some what of a shaded area. Then the colors will get better I have a green eyed one with orange acan that I keep in a shaded area and colors pop

im using 2x250watts 14k mh bulbs on a 75g aquarium that colors pop, but the acans doesnt really stand out like the ones i see in the forums...

acans need low light and low/moderate flow.

ive got an orange aussie bowerbanki that is taking off now that i put him to the far side of the tank.

they are not a high light/flow coral.
