Why do clams look better from above?

Ok,
The clams look best when veiwed from the top becouse that is the angle of the lights. If your lights were pointed through the front glass, then they would look beller from the front side.
The colors on a clams mantle are sorta like a rainbow. For example, take shining a flashlight through a prism. If you shine it the right way, you will see the entire spectrum. However, if you move the prism, you may only see the warmed colors (red, yellow) or the colder colors (blue, purple).
