Why do shrooms do great in my tank and rics do not?

Crush Coral

Shrooms multiply great along with all my other corals including sps. The rics I bought 2 years ago never split nor grew and some slowly shrank and disappeared. Inquiring minds want to know why.
Thanks,

I have the same issue. I have hairy mushrooms, zoas, plain old mushrooms, huge bubble coral, large SPS colony and a 6 headed frogspawn with tons of new babies. All of them do great but I have had a frag with 2 rics on it for over a year and they look smaller than when i bought them

I wonder if they need spot feeding or a high nutrient environment. Seems with all my corals if I spot feed they grow.

Which ricordeas are they? Yuma or florida? I found yumas just melted away after a few months but my florida rics are doing very well.

I spot feed mine. It could be a placement issue, try moving them a little, try them in the shade or in the light more... move them so they can get a little flow under the polyp. try some different things.

Florida rics have been slow growers/splitters for me. They tend to reproduce in bursts for me.... If they start splitting they might split into three or four very quickly... But otherwise they just add mouths and get bigger for a long while.
