hello everyone i came here for some help today. i have about 4-5 years experience on freshwater tanks. my sister just went off to college so im taken care of her salt tank. its a 20 gallon. used to thrive was always so big then recently past few months it looks terrible he moved to the filter stickign on the back glass right next to filter were the water is coming pouring back into tank he is right there and has not moved at all. he dont even eat. my sister said she only feeds him once a month. but he looked so much better on the rocks all big with arms all over the place now he is all shriveled up and dont look as nice.

is there a reason why he wandered off there. would it be a good idea to try and move him back to a rock i just re did the the tank took all the rocks out and put them outside there all nice and white again so put them back in and redid the lay out with little holes or what ever you wanna call them all over the place for more hiding spots for fish. if i should move him back to a rock hoping he will get real big again how do i move him and what should i feed him.

You took all the rocks out and let them turn white? Did you do this before or after the anemone moved?
Do you do water changes? What has your sister told you to do as far as maintenance?

Hummm the dark rock is basically live material on the rock helping filter the tank and keep it clean. If you just took the rock out until it got white and put it back in then it is possible you just caused a massive flip in the tank.

Ask her where her test kits are (or go to the store and get one of the liquid test kits NOT THE TEST STRIPS) and test... and POST the results.

It is possible that everything died on the rock and is now decaying.

The rock is not going to be all white again even if you put it outside. Only will get all white again if you bleach it. No reply with all the posts that helping. If I am new and post a question I will check it every 5 mins.
This sound like a troll to me.

Well they'd turn white after a year. ;)

I'm locking this and if the OP wants to reply you can contact me and I'll open it.
