Why is my chaeto browm

Some of my chaeto is turning brown. Why? I have it in the sump with a 100w energy saver 6500k bulb on it 12hrs a day.

Any thoughts?

Does the chaeto revolve around in there on its own, or does some of it remain somewhat in shadow? It helps to circulate it around, manually if you have to, to make sure detritus shakes off and it all gets plenty of light.

It all gets plenty of light, but I never move it around. Didn't know I had to. Should I moved it around?

The section that tuned brown was on top and getting light.

You should flip it over on a regular basis or throw in a small powerhead to roll it. The brown is die-off and should be removed.
