Why is my clown burrowing?

My clown seems to have all the sudden taken a liking to moving around the substrate and burrowing.

Is this normal?

Mine does that too she digs trenches next to the frogspawn they host. I think it's pretty normal

Yeah both of mine have been doing that as well.

Clownfish will often dig, it's just a way of them cleaning and organising their home. Don't be surprised to see them move small rocks/shells too.

If they are digging too large a hole. Put a white tile about 1/2" below the sand. Once they clear the sand away to the tile they will be happy and stop digging around it.

Our clowns will dig 2-3" holes quite happily and make a great mess given the chance
