so i bought a condy a while ago being the noob that i am, and i also have 2 clowns (percs) and i noticed today that one of my clowns is poking at it, the anemone closed and the clown is still messing with it.. is this normal? heres a vid..

it kinda looks like the anemone is upside down. or extrmly bleached or somthing either way it does not look well. but the clowns it is completly normal clownfish bond with anemones. they make anemones there home and will bounce around in them and even feed the anemone sounds like you need towatch your nemo

yeah the anemone is upside down, i had my tank covered because of an algae problem i had and when i took off the cover the nem was on the front glass attached, and it came off the glass and has been moving around since, and it is still upside down, what should i do? i didnt want to grab it and stress it more, i though it would be because i had the lights off for the 3 days n stuff..

you should probly not ever cover your ligts up if you have a nem because of algea run carben or gfo for algea. but I would just make sure its foot gets planted then it should move on its own. I dont know much about condys but I think there pretty hardey so it should rebound pretty fast just flip it on its foot maby target feed it a lil

IMO,you should cover up the tank and acclimate it to your lights. If he had higher light levels in his tank(I think he does)than the stores you should always acclimate it due to the stresss on the zoo that the anemone contains within.

Could we get a run down of your set up please? With params, lighting, filtration, how long its ben set up,ect.

Thanks,

the tank has been running for 4 months, the params are all at 0ppm, the salinity is at 1.024 and the temp is at 76, for filtration i have a diy sump with a skimmer i there, the lights are t5

the anemone has been in my tank with no problems for about a month and a half, till now that i did the lights out thing, after the lights out it has been acting up

i dont have a test for mag, calcium or alk, but will have soon, i have a 2 bulb t5, and i did a lights out for 3 days because i had some diatoms in my tank

the coraline algea is a good sign... means that your perams are for the most part normal i would pick up a cal alk and mag test kit ASAP especially keeping an invert/coral. the clown is probably cleaning the nem theres algea that grows on them that the clowns will nip off, i would flip it over target feed it and keep it in a shaded spot and let it come out to higher light when its ready....

sorry I worded it funny earlier i meant you shouldn't cover up the lights tp prevent algea from breaking out. not for the nem.

I would say hes just a bit screwed up from the 3 days out of light. So If I were you I would slowly acclimate him back to the lights little by little!
