It is my opinion that the green part of your colony is dead. I also believe that it has been receding for some time and the cause is most likely high phosphates/nitrates. I've seen the recession stop in it's tracks once the coral is in good water conditions....but I've more often seen it continue up the coral branches until there is very little tissue left on each branch tip, and then eventually they perish. I cannot tell you to frag this coral....I'm not sure it would help. I'm sure now that you've supplied a better photo, there are those out there with much more knowlege than me that can offer a course of action. Good luck.
