Why is this guy difficult?

I was wondering if it was just the temp -- I keep my tanks at 77 but that's the top end of their range. I suspect not cool enough ...

FWIW, I've been to Costa Rica, and the inshore water on the western side is about 70*F - MAYBE 79*F (more like 75*F max) at depth, tops.

I went to Costa Rica in the summer and the surface temp was HOT, so hot it burn't me! I think these guys are hard to get on prepared foods to.

You'll notice I said "at depth"...

I've kept Myripristis murjians (red soldierfish), which is related, and it was a solid feeder. However, it was a bit cryptic at full lighting. It also "talked"...made a pop-pop-pop-pop-pop sound.

The catalufas are great looking fish, IMHO.

I did, you'll notice I said surface:D

I think I will email them as you said anbosu. I am looking for something different to add to the fu tank. Course I just had an exploding heater causing all kinds of problems including 40g on the floor so the tanks are at 74 degrees right now. Sigh. Bad design. Going to put the heaters on their own gfi ... duuhhhh.
